This t-shirt is made by inlaying aged cotton on a hanging knitting machine. Cotton that is compressed and transported as a lump is allowed to mature for 30 to 50 days in a temperature and humidity-controlled room to restore the original fluffy cotton fibres. The cotton is then spun into special yarn and knitted on a hanging knitting machine in Wakayama. Usually, a hanging knitting machine can only knit 1 meter per hour, which takes a lot of time and effort, but Samurai knits in high gauge inlays while utilizing the characteristics of this yarn; they can only knit 48cm per hour. In the case of high-gauge inlays, only about 48 cm can be knitted per hour. Although the fabric is inefficient and cannot be made in large quantities, the result is a hanging fabric that is soft and moist to the touch, thicker than a jersey, and less stretchy.
